Overview
Our client is a large United States banking institution headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. The organization operates an extensive branch and ATM network across multiple states and is among the largest banks in the country. It is the principal subsidiary of a major bank holding company and has a long history formed through the merger of predecessor banks.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $48.00 to $58.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities- Serve as the mainframe subject matter expert for languages, tools, and platform engineering.
- Participate in infrastructure planning and provide guidance on future-state mainframe technologies.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of current and emerging mainframe infrastructure.
- Establish, maintain, document, and publish mainframe language and development tool direction and technology roadmaps.
- Coordinate cross-departmental projects, including mainframe application migrations.
- Demonstrate broad technical knowledge across multiple technologies and understand cross-technology impacts.
- Maintain industry awareness and rapidly learn and apply new concepts within the mainframe domain.
- Build productive networks with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and industry peers.
- Ensure proper documentation of complex technical systems for effective operational handover.
- Lead implementation efforts including analysis of vendor proposals, build-versus-buy evaluations, project planning, test execution, vendor coordination, and progress tracking.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with COBOL.
- Experience with DB2.
- Experience with JCL.
- Platform engineering experience in mainframe environments.
- Expert knowledge of mainframe operating systems and hardware.
- Experience across multiple mainframe disciplines with strong application design and development skills.
- Banking experience (preferred).
- SAS experience (preferred).
- Technical degree or related work experience.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
