Clean Harbors in Cincinnati, Ohio is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist (Clean Pack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies. This position works indoors and outdoors at plants, laboratories, customer sites, and household hazardous waste collections actriz and is a customer‑facing role that requires daily travel to client locations.

The Environmental Field Chemist is not laboratory‑based.

Must be willing to obtain a CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within six months of employment.

$14.00 per hour – $39.00 per hour

• Prioritize health and safety by following all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Prepare computer‑generated packing lists, labels, manifest, and land disposal restriction notifications.
• Inspect staging, accumulation, and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping and regulatory compliance.
• Inspect drums and storage for leaks, spills, and labeling compliance.
• Collect, segregate, and properly package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and compliance.
• Execute jobs at Clean Harbors customer locations, including Fortune 500 companies.
• Prepare and approve projects before shipment in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and company policies.
• Conduct jobs in accordance with site‑specific federal, state, and local regulations and health and safety plans.
• Understand customer specific disposal restrictions and special packaging requirements.
• Sample and profile new waste streams or waste requiring analytical testing.
• Ensure drum count is correct and drum conditions are shippable per company policy.
• Follow local, state, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
• Operate vehicles safely in accordance with U.S. DOT and other requirements.
• Observe corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
• Observe company environmental, health, internasafety at guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong customer service skills.
• College degree in chemistry or natural science.
• Must be willing to obtain a CDL Class B with hazmatेंड quel tanker endorsement within six months of employment.
• Perform physical functions per job requirements.
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position.
• Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.

• Previous experience in environmental services (remediation, abatement, emergency spill response, etc.).

• Waste Disposal – Comprehensive disposal of hazardous and non‑hazardous waste at company‑owned facilities.
• Recycling Services – Extensive recycling, reuse and reclamation options for materials such as solvents, chemicals, oil and electrical equipment.
• Chemical Packing – Safe, efficient handling and disposal of the widest range of chemicals, including reactives and compressed gases.
