Quest Defense Systems and Solutions is seeking a Senior Materials Engineer to grow with our company. In this role, you will be assigned to a well‑structured Engineering Support office dealing with the Aero Engines / Gearboxes domain, and be responsible for R&D, testing, analysis, and characterization of materials; verification and validation of new materials; definition of technical specifications of special treatments;

failure analysis of damaged or non‑conforming components; partnering with Design, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, etc.; and direct interfacing with suppliers.

Responsibilities
  • Support and drive material qualifications for new supplier turbo machinery hardware, ensuring robust processes while supporting supply chain capacity improvements.
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
  • Participate in business and industry teams supporting overall improvement in the application of special processes for turbo machinery

    JP parts.
  • Provide technical and strategic supply‑chain support through reviews and pre‑production meetings.
  • චsolid definition of technical specifications and requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects and affluent in accordance with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate non‑conformances by reviewing, analyzing requirements and acceptability criteria, recommending disposition procedures, and maximizing producibility.
Required Skills (Technical Competency)
  • 4–6 years of experience מאר materials engineer in the aerospace or gas turbine industry including manufacturing, quality systems, and field support.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy.
  • Experience with additive manufacturing processes and technologies (preferred).
  • Broad knowledge of metals, ceramics,torrent composites, polymers, etc., and experience with characterization tests.
  • Laboratory operations experience (knowledge of procedures, equipment, etc.).
  • Finite elements analysis background (knowledge of ANSYS advantageous but not mandatory).
  • Knowledge of coating/surface treatment processes (advantageous but not mandatory).
  • Good computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Project management experience desirable but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Enjoy working in a fast‑paced, creative environment.
  • Enjoy dynamic teams with diverse experiences.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Mostly office environments with occasional shop‑floor involvement.
  • Substantial telephone and computer work.
  • Highly regulated industries with strict adherence to procedures.
  • Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
  • Typical 8‑hour days plus lunch; 40‑hour weeks; core hours 9 AM to 4 PM.
  • Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
