Position OverviewFeldkamp Mechanical is seeking an experienced MEP BIM Designer to support the planning, design, and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across commercial and industrial projects. This role plays a critical part in developing high‑quality BIM models, ensuring system constructability, and collaborating closely with architects, engineers, and field teams.
Key Responsibilities- Develop detailed 3D Revit models for MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
- Interpret engineering plans, specifications, and submittals to produce accurate coordinated designs.
- Select appropriate equipment and materials to align with project requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate MEP systems into the overall building design.
- Use Navisworks to run clash detection and resolve conflicts across trades.
- Participate in coordination meetings and provide design updates as needed.
- Create and review technical drawings, schematics, and construction documents.
- Maintain model accuracy throughout design and construction phases.
- Support project managers and field crews by providing technical detail, clarifications, and installation guidance.
- Ensure all MEP system designs comply with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Maintain documentation and revisions in alignment with BIM best practices.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in MEP design, mechanical/plumbing engineering, or BIM coordination.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical building systems.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and typical construction sequencing.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem‑solving and technical decision‑making skills.
- Experience with fabrication‑level detailing (LOD 350–400).
- Experience supporting field coordination or installation.
- Exposure to BIM 360 / ACC workflows.
