Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Identifies deficiencies in mechanical processes and develops improvements
• Designs and develops prototypes
• Analyzes and tests prototypes
• Uses AutoCAD and Solidworks to design or modify parts
• Assists in planning, coordination, follow up, and implementation of APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) activities for assigned programs
• Provides customer interface for assigned programs
• Participates in Continuous Improvement projects
• Prepares documentation of critical analysis and provides suggestions for correcting errors
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

• Ability to read a tape measure and other measurement tools
• Mechanical inclination

• Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Persistence when faced with problems

• At least two years’ related experience required
• 1-2 years of AutoCAD and Solidworks design experience or equivalent software
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or similar)

• Uncontrolled environmental conditions: noise, dust, dirt, mobile equipment, and walking surfaces strewn with materials, power cords and tools are typical
• Occasional lifting up to 40 lbsli>
• Any combination of standing, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling and walking 8 to 10 hours per day
• Ability to work up to 8-10 hour shifts and overtime as required by the work
• Use of all limbs, dexterous and steady use of hands and arms for long periods of time
• Simultaneous mental and muscular coordination, visual and audio awareness of surrounding area
