Job Description

CMTA is seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer for our Cincinnati, OH office with 5+ years of experience in plumbing design and engineering. The role involves working closely with the plumbing engineering team on energy‑efficient projects, leading all phases of the project and resolving challenges for our clients.

Desired Experience
  • 5+ years of industry experience – MEP Design
  • Piping and equipment layout using Revit
  • Flow tests and engineering calculations
  • Laying out waste/vent piping; domestic hot/cold piping; and storm piping
  • Determine preliminary fire/domestic water requirements for various building types
  • Design plumbing systems from the design phase through construction administration, providing workable solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Review and mark up drawings from others.
  • Generate electronic responses to questions and reviews.
  • Attend meetings with owners, clients, and architects.
  • Guide and mentor staff engineers on appropriate design.
  • Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents and applicable codes.
  • Select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and calculations for equipment research, piping layout, and pipe sizing.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve deficiencies, and provide technical information.
  • Research and analyze client design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other criteria to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
  • Specify system components or direct product modifications to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance.
  • Develop client relations through feedback to design engineers on customer concerns and needs.
Desired Education
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Licensed Engineer a plus but not a requirement
