Location:

Pay Range: $20.86 - $49.24/Hr

- Chemistry or Material Science or Chemical Engineering with a PhD required
- 2-5 Years of experience, or more
- Site has 65 researchers working closely together; diverse group
- Able to work independently on customer compliance and method development
- 1st Interview will be virtual
- 2nd Interview (If Chosen) will be at the site
- Please dress Business Professional at both interviews
- Evaluates the chemical and physical properties of various organic and inorganic substances for a polymer research facility
- Maintenance, data interpretation, and report writing for unknowns evaluated using GCMS, LCMS, and/or FTIR
- Day-to-day maintenance of equipment and method development
- Other duties may be assigned
- Independently practices applying principles in the discipline of competency
- Demonstrates a continuing consciousness of safety in daily activities and work design
- Works under general supervision
- Supports field assignments as required
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected
- PhD degree or higher
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in the industry or in a related field, or approval by the Program Director
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
- Must be cognizant of the capabilities and limitations of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit; climb, balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and ability to focus
- May periodically be required to travel to client job-sites, usually involving heavy industrial (chemical) production facilities
- Exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and the risk of electric shock
- Noise level can be loud to moderate depending on assignment
