Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and testing various mechanical devices and robotics equipment. Their main duties include locating problems with various machinery, conducting experiments to improve different product designs and using CAD technology to build product designs. The Manufacturing Engineer will also fabricate sheet metal parts according to print and will help in other areas as needed. Close collaboration with production, engineering, and quality staff is critical for meeting on time delivery goals and producing conforming parts.

Supervisory Responsibilities- None.
- Identifies deficiencies in mechanical processes and develops improvements
- Designs and develops prototypes
- Analyzes and tests prototypes
- Uses AutoCAD and Solidworks to design or modify parts
- Assists in planning, coordination, follow up, and implementation of APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) activities for assigned programs
- Provides customer interface for assigned programs
- Provides Program Engineering support
- Participates in Continuous Improvement projects
- Prepares documentation of critical analysis and providing suggestions for correcting errors
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Ability to read a tape measure and other measurement tools
- Intermediate math skills (ex. Algebra, trigonometry)
- Advanced computer skills
- Mechanical inclination
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Interpersonal and written communication skills
- Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Persistence when faced with problems
- At least two years’ related experience required.
- 1-2 years of AutoCAD and Solidworks design experience or equivalent software
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or similar).
- Uncontrolled environmental conditions: noise, dust, dirt, mobile equipment, and walking surfaces strewn with materials, power cords and tools are typical.
- Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Any combination of standing, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling and walking 8 to 10 hours per day.
- Ability to work up to 8-10 hour shifts and overtime as required by the work.
- Use of all limbs, dexterous and steady use of hands and arms for long periods of time.
- Simultaneous mental and muscular coordination, visual and audio awareness of surrounding area.
