Job Description Summary

The Facilities Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading and assisting in the design, operations, maintenance, and optimization of all facility and utility electrical systems within our site.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform technical work specific to electrical equipment review, sign off on engineering design and certifications, and work with external vendors.
  • Ensure new designs meet GE Aerospace and industry standards for all regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and utility system issues to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to address facility electrical related challenges.
  • Develop new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organization.
  • Work together with business leadership at SPB and EB levels.
  • Specify needs, communicate about project approach, and present outcomes of research.
  • Develop in‑depth knowledge of a technical discipline, using prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • Utilize judgment to propose alternative solutions outside of set parameters with guidance.
  • Act as an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent, providing informal guidance to new team members.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or a high‑school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Electrical Engineering experience plus a minimum of 3 years high voltage experience.
Desired Characteristics
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills.
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability.
  • Experience specifying, installing, testing, and operating electrical equipment.
  • Experience with voltage levels for equipment ranging from 138 kV, 480 V, and 280/120 V.
  • Supporting maintenance teams.
  • Lighting controls.
  • Power monitoring and metering equipment.
  • Arc flash studies and power protection schemes.
  • Directing and organizing groups of electricians.
  • Experience with NFPA 70, 70‑B, and 70E.
