The Advanced Product Development (APD) Digital Engineering Ecosystem (DEE) subsection is a pioneering systems organization at the forefront of military innovation. This team is responsible for developing, integrating, and deploying the DEE for a CAT 1 New Product Introduction (NPI) in Edison Works, encompassing the design, development, testing, and qualification of an advanced engine concept.
The DEE is an advanced collaborative platform that provides secure, role‑based access to a centralized data repository, serving as the single source of truth for all program‑level information. It supports the entire engine lifecycle from conception to sustained operation, integrating digital tools, optimized processes, and robust databases.
The APD Digital Systems Staff Engineer for Digital Sustainment will play a crucial role in this endeavor, developing and implementing a model‑based sustainment strategy within Cameo in collaboration with customers, Integrated Product Support (IPS), controls and performance teams, and module IPTs. The role involves applying model‑based systems engineering to support engine sustainment throughout its lifecycle, enabling capabilities such as Condition Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+), Product Health Monitoring (PHM), and Digital Twin (DTw) development.
InThis Role, You Will
- Develop a comprehensive digital strategy aligned with program goals, including model‑based sustainment and the utilization of a digital twin to predict system performance, logistics, and maintenance needs.
- Work with DoD and airframe customers to define sustainment requirements, develop and maintain MBSE models, and support sustainment activities.
- Collaborate with airframe partners to define a digital twin and implement it across the DEE to support sustainment activities.
- Spearhead the development of advanced predictive algorithms by leveraging data analytics and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to optimize engine health monitoring and performance forecasting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant engineering position.
- Requirement to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.
- Must be able to work full‑time on a fixed office schedule due to security requirements.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; no visa sponsorship will be provided.
- Active “Advanced program” access.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with customers and influencing teams effectively.
- Experience utilizing digital tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Cameo.
- Experience developing and maintaining APIs.
- Experience with GE Aerospace digital tools and processes.
- Experience working with DoD customers and processes.
- Collaborate with systems, design, test, and product support teams to ensure seamless integration into the model‑based sustainment strategy.
- Drive continuous improvement of existing tools and processes to maximize effectiveness of engine sustainment.
- Integrate lean/flight deck methodologies into the DEE framework, optimizing efficiency and resource utilization.
