Bottles and Closures Design Engineer

Overview

On Line Design, Inc. is looking for a consultant in Change Part Design for bottles and closures in West Chester, OH. In this role, you will support the upgrade of packaging lines for cap and pump delivery systems to fit with existing cappers. This role will include reverse engineering of physical parts, helping automate the design of change parts based upon the reverse engineered physical parts, and assisting in validation and testing of the designed change parts.

You will need experience designing change parts, experience with reverse engineering, and experience with Solid Works. Weekly hours in this role will vary between 25-40 and you must be able to flow to the work. You must live locally, with the ability to commute to the office.

• Complete detailing of 3D CAD drawings of change parts to create fabrication drawings.
• Create drawings and models from 3D scans to support reverse engineering of caps and pump closures in Solid Works.
• Leverage reverse engineered parts and dimensions to design change parts in Solid Works which are compatible with existing manufacturing equipment.
• Support testing and verification of an automated design tool.
• Conduct necessary design iterations to streamline the change parts and process.
• Support on-site testing of the change part design with at least one required trip within the continental U.S.

• An associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, CAD, or other related field
• 5+ years of experience working with change part design or closure design
• Experience with Solid Works for modeling including the design of parameterized models
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
• Prior experience with Ronchi cappers is a plus
• Must be authorized to work in the US
