At Jacobs, we’re challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission‑critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery, and cutting‑edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact:
We’re not just building structures; we’re helping our clients innovate and grow by designing, engineering, and executing the construction of their state‑of‑the‑art facilities that are changing our world.

As an SQS Coordinator for Life Sciences North America you will help coordinate a team of SQS employees and 3rd‑party inspectors on Jacobs’ projects, implementing techniques for planning, coordinating, and reporting on inspections and expediting of equipment suppliers, component manufacturers, and construction sub‑contractors.

The SQS Coordinator reports directly to the Manager of Supplier Quality Surveillance for Life Sciences North America, while maintaining an indirect connection with the SQS Manager and Project Manager for the assigned project.

Bring your curiosity, passion for innovation, and talent for multi‑tasking in a fast‑paced environment and we will help you grow, pursue, and fulfill what inspires you – so we can make big impacts on the world together.

Responsibilities
  • Use critical thinking and problem solving to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the project’s SQS efforts.
  • Utilize established policies, procedures, systems, and tools.
  • Evaluate project and equipment schedules and coordinate the assignments of 3rd‑party inspectors accordingly.
  • Review 3rd‑party inspector qualifications to ensure they are up to date prior to assignments; maintain qualification documentation in the project repository.
  • Act as liaison between the 3rd‑party inspectors and the Jacobs Work Package Owners for the relevant equipment orders.
  • Provide access to project documentation for the 3rd‑party inspectors (e.g., specifications, P&IDs, procedures).
  • Track effort hours from both 3rd‑party inspectors and advanced expeditors against the project budget; calculate and report required Estimates To Complete (ETC) for hours needed to complete the scope of work.
  • Attend project expediting meetings; identify targeted needs for shop expediting; assign SQS Engineer or Technician to fulfill these project needs.
  • Review reports from both inspectors and SQS engineers for completeness, then distribute reports to relevant stakeholders and file in the project repository.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of project experience in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering and/or capital construction purchasing, contracting, expediting, supplier quality management, and material management.
  • 2+ years of experience in Biopharmaceutical/Life Science Manufacturing Projects (preferred).
  • Experience using MS Office tools, including intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong communication, organization, and management abilities.
  • Drive to solve complex and challenging problems.

Hybrid role requiring presence in an office 2 days a week at a location close to your residence.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discount. Eligible employees may also enroll in a deferred compensation plan or the Executive Deferral Plan. Jacobs has an unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) policy for full‑time salaried/exempt employees, seven paid holidays, one floating holiday, and caregiver leave.

Certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
