Apply for the Senior Electrical Engineer role at Jacobs in Cincinnati, OH. This position focuses on advanced facilities/life sciences projects and is a hybrid role (office 2–3 days a week). The base pay range is $ to $ per year.
Your Responsibilities- Engineering and design of facility power distribution systems, grounding, lighting, equipment & construction specifications and hazardous area classifications in some of the most complex industrial facilities.
- Evaluating system goals and designing, selecting required equipment or power/controls to achieve goals.
- Performing calculations and evaluations for industrial application equipment and systems.
- Directing activities to ensure construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, codes, and standards.
- Maintaining effective communication with project team members and customers.
- Using engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Performing tier reviews of project deliverables to ensure accuracy and conformance to codes, specifications, design criteria, and good engineering practices.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
- PE, Professional Engineer license.
- 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering design of buildings.
- Solid knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC).
- Ability to perform power system studies—including short‑circuit, load flow, protective coordination, and arc‑flash studies.
- Leadership abilities to guide less experienced staff.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio), Smart Plant, Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu.
- Life Science and/or advanced manufacturing facility electrical design experience.
- Working knowledge of Revit or BIM software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Forward thinking and eagerness to learn best practices.
- Ability to collaborate within multi‑disciplinary teams.
