Mechanical Engineer

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. Recommends design modifications. Responsible for HVAC and Plumbing equipment selection and design.

• Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
• Value engineering assistance on design-assist and plan-spec projects.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations, heat transfer, fluids analysis, pressure calculations, and equipment selections.
• Apply knowledge of standards, codes, regulations, and industry best practices to designs.
• Creation of code-compliant bid/construction/permit documents for Design Build projects.
• Systems evaluations, analysis and reporting, including energy analysis and life cycle cost analysis.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects to meet project milestones and deliverables.
• Develop, create, and maintain client relationships with clients.
• Work with clients, owners, and other design professionals to ensure project scope, requirements, and budgetary parameters and desired outcomes are accurately reflected in proposals and design documentation.
• Attends Project meetings as needed.
• Conducts job-site visits and Pre-Bids as needed.
• Attends job turnover meetings.
• Works with Estimation Team.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Minimum 5 years of Design experience.
• 2 or more years’ experience in plumbing, hydronics and mechanicals.
• Licensed PE.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Detail oriented.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent is preferred.

• Valid Driver’s License.
