Position10-month contract (mid-August – early-June). Additional summer hours available through CCDSummer Camp. Hours based on program needs (30 – 40 hours per week). Additional hours may be available through Extended Day programs. Salary commensurate with that of a teacher assistant.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required (degree in early childhood education preferred)
- Meets qualifications for licensure in Ohio or educational aide certification
- Proven ability to work with young children (minimum 3 years teaching experience preferred)
- Perform essential functions of the position which include the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, and lift up to 25 pounds
- Commitment to the school’s virtues, mission, and professional standards
- Strong classroom management skills
- Clear understanding of high-quality teaching and learning
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Willingness to be a visible and involved participant in and supporter of the school community
- Skill and comfort working collaboratively and productively with all constituencies within the school community
- Experience collaborating with colleagues around lesson development, classroom management, student assessment, and differentiation
- Certifications in:
First Aid, CPR, Communicable Disease, Child Abuse, and the ODE Orientation Training for Preschool and School Age Child Care (SACC) Staff Members
- Project-based learning
- Literacy and mathematics instruction for young learners
- Social-emotional Learning
- Belonging & wellbeing
- Differentiation
- Understanding of documenting children’s learning through photos, videos, dictation, and digital portfolios
