Job Overview

To this end, the Science and Health Department at UC Clermont College seeks applications for a full-time, educator-track faculty position in the area of Medical Laboratory Technology.

Essential Functions
  • Teach twelve (12) contact hours for three semesters (Fall, Spring, Summer), for a total of 36 contact hours annually. Focus on medical laboratory technology courses in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats; may also be asked to teach other courses.
  • Respond promptly to student inquiries, hold convenient office hours or appointments.
  • Provide academic advising to students.
  • Participate in ongoing scholarship, research, and professional development.
  • Engage in service to the department, college, university, and community.
  • Serve as the Medical Laboratory Technician Program Coordinator: develop and maintain a curriculum aligned with current industry credentials and NAACLS accreditation requirements; perform continuous curriculum evaluation; secure clinical partners and coordinate placements; recommend course materials; assess and maintain lab equipment; recruit students through outreach events; develop learning outcomes assessment plans; conduct program reviews; oversee faculty recruitment and staffing; manage budgets; fulfill accreditation reporting;

    and establish an advisory committee with at least 80% external members representing the medical lab technology industry.
Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in a relevant discipline.
  • ASCP BOC or ASCP BOC generalist certification as a medical laboratory scientist.
  • At least three (3) years of college-level teaching experience as the primary instructor, including experience with a learning management system (LMS).
  • Knowledge of educational methods and administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures.
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating MLT programs/policies; use of innovative instructional technologies that enhance the learning experience; teaching in both online and traditional classroom environments; and teaching students with varying preparation, interests, and aptitudes.
