Job Overview
The Biology Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for our Anatomy & Physiology / Pharmacology Adjunct faculty general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed). The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio. The college is in Blue Ash, Ohio, fifteen miles north of the uptown campus, on 135 acres in a park-like setting.
We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs, as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees to approximately 5,100 students. We value excellent teaching and personalized student support to help students achieve their goals, whether the goal is to enter a career or to continue education. - Part-time faculty must be able to teach Anatomy & Physiology I and/or II (lecture and lab) or Introduction to Pharmacology (lecture). These courses target undergraduate nursing, dental hygiene, and allied health students.
- Use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems.
- Hold regular office hours to meet with students and respond to student communications in a timely manner.
- Participate in at least one professional development workshop per year.
- All classes may be offered day or evening.
- This position is not eligible for visa or green card sponsorship.
- On a part-time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses.
- Using best practices, continually evaluate student coursework.
- Engage in activities ancillary to or in support of responsibilities.
- Review and respond in a timely manner to all University-related and student communications.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum of a Master’s degree in a biological science field (General Biology, Physiology, Pharmacology, or related field).
Additional Qualifications Considered- At least one (1) year of teaching experience in a college setting.
