Job Overview
Are you a dedicated Lead Teacher looking to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit community? Join our Avondale location, where strong relationships, cultural responsiveness, and educational excellence are at the heart of our work.

We are hiring an experienced and credentialed Lead Preschool Teacher who will bring structure, warmth, and professionalism to the classroom. You’ll be responsible for implementing curriculum, conducting child assessments, mentoring classroom staff, and supporting family engagement in line with DCY expectations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development:
    Design and implement lesson plans using the Creative Curriculum and Ohio’s 2024 Early Learning and Development Standards.
  • Classroom Management:
    Create a consistent, safe, and developmentally supportive learning environment.
  • Assessment & Documentation:
    Use DCY-approved tools to assess children’s progress and share results with families.
  • Family Engagement:
    Build trusting relationships with families through communication, goal-setting, and conferences.
  • Team Leadership:
    Supervise and coach assistant teachers, fostering a positive and productive team dynamic.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    Maintain full compliance with DCY licensing requirements and internal policies.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    At least 3 years of lead teaching experience in a licensed early learning setting.
  • Certifications:

    Current CPR and First Aid, and all DCY-required clearances.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices
    • Excellent communication and family engagement skills
    • Proficiency with technology platforms for attendance, documentation, and assessment
