SummaryResponsible to focus on transforming lives and championing engagement by helping youth achieve goals, make new friends, and connect with our Y community through instruction of Ninja Zone classes. Create a safe environment, use imaginative play to teach balance, coordination, listening. Build community. Build confidence, focus, independence. Modify class to meet varied needs.

Essential Functions- Instruct and lead high-energy, movement-based Ninja Zone classes according to curriculum.
- Review lesson plans, instruct materials, set up space with equipment.
- Create a fun and safe environment; arrive early, stay after, answer questions, cleanup.
- Keep accurate attendance records.
- Administer evaluations and provide weekly feedback, written progress reports.
- Understand participant needs and goals, provide positive environment.
- Provide quality Ninja Zone class that starts and ends on time and follows scheduled format.
- Be courteous, friendly, greet members by name.
- Respect individual goals, needs and perspectives.
- Show genuine interest in youth health and fitness.
- Adhere to association standards.
- Perform other duties as necessary or directed.
Functional Expertise, Developing Self & Others
Qualifications- Experience with young children (teaching, coaching, babysitting, daycare).
- In pursuit of High School Diploma (16+ years).
- Must possess CPR/AED/O2 and First Aid certifications within employer specification.
- Willingness to be trained in Ninja Zone curriculum within 30 days of hire.
- Regular attendance at program training and meetings.
- Know and abide by center policies and procedures.
- Know and abide by center substitution policies, minimizing substitutes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
