About the College/DepartmentThe University of Cincinnati College of Medicine was founded in 1819 as the Medical College of Ohio and became part of the University of Cincinnati in 1896. It is the oldest medical college west of the Allegheny Mountains. The College has an exceptional history including the development of the first live polio vaccination by Dr. Albert Salk, development of the world’s first heart and lung machine, and the development of the antihistamine Benadryl.
Currently the College has over 3800 faculty, affiliated faculty and staff, $134 million in research grants and contract holdings, over 2.2 million clinic visits annually, and is ranked in the top 30% of medical colleges in education. The Division of Immunology, Allergy and Rheumatology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine invites applications for a clinical track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level, in the area of rheumatology. Rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and programmatic expectations.

Essential FunctionsThe successful applicant will focus on clinical care in outpatient and inpatient settings, and educational efforts within the division.
- The division has a busy outpatient service at various locations in the Cincinnati tri-state area, with a large referral base and in office infusion services.
- Multiple opportunities exist to develop disease focused service lines including collaboration with other divisions and departments.
- The division also has a busy teaching service, both outpatient and inpatient.
- The division has a successful fellowship training program, with two fellows per training year, and ample opportunity to mentor medical students, resident and fellow trainees.
- Protected time and support for research is available for the interested candidate.
- The division and the Department of Internal Medicine will provide the necessary financial and administrative support for compensation (salary and benefits) for the first three years of the appointment.
- Salary is competitive for Midwest rheumatology, commensurate with experience and includes an incentive plan that rewards clinical, educational and research productivity.
Applicants for this faculty position must have all of the following prior to effective date of appointment:
- MD, DO or MD/PHD (or foreign equivalent).
- Ohio Medical License.
- Completion of 2-year fellowship in Rheumatology.
- Board eligibility or certification in Rheumatology.
