Position:
Civil Construction Inspector I. You will count on contributing to field observations, quality control, and documentation for civil infrastructure projects. You will operate under general supervision with guidance from a Senior Inspector and collaborate with our team to ensure safe, accurate, and timely project execution.
- Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations, pipelines).
- Monitor, record, and inspect construction progress.
- Coordinate field materials sampling and testing (concrete slump and air testing, cast concrete test cylinders, in-place soil compaction testing).
- Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector, who reviews work as it progresses.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Technical school or Associate degree.
- Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection.
- Previous ODOT experience.
- Road and bridge construction experience.
- Ability to interpret construction schedules.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Active participation in our employee-owned culture.
- HDR Drug and Alcohol Policy applies; may require drug screening prior to hire and as required by client or laws.

The compensation range for this role is location-dependent:
Ohio: $48,650 – $69,500.
