A leading commercial HVAC solutions provider is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee the OEM equipment portion of commercial retrofit and renovation projects. This role specializes in managing chillers, air handlers, packaged rooftop units, and other mechanical equipment—not the full construction scope—making it ideal for PMs with strong HVAC understanding who want to deepen expertise and grow within a high-performing team.
Projects are typically short‑cycle (2–4 weeks) and located within 40 miles of Cincinnati/Dayton. You will be on-site 90–95% of the week, coordinating subcontractors, interfacing with general contractors, and ensuring project delivery, safety, and financial performance.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Development
- Partner with sales teams on project development, scoping, and cost estimation.
- Review drawings, specifications, and proposals to build accurate project plans.
- Perform risk analysis and build mitigation plans for all assigned projects.
Execution & Coordination
- Lead the HVAC equipment scope through start-up, commissioning, and integration with broader project activities.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, GCs, mechanical contractors, and internal teams.
- Maintain project schedules, job status updates, and communication across all stakeholders.
Financial & Contract Management
- Manage budgets and project financials for scopes typically ranging from $500K–$3M.
- Prepare and manage subcontractor documentation, including scopes, milestone dates, schedules of values, and change orders.
- Review invoices, track labor/equipment usage, and ensure healthy profit margins.
Quality & Safety
- Enforce safety standards across all job sites.
- Resolve field issues quickly and effectively.
- Ensure proper closeout documentation, testing, and customer handoff.
- 3+ years of Project Management experience specifically in commercial construction
- Experience with commercial HVAC equipment (chillers, AHUs, RTUs, mechanical systems, commissioning, or OEM equipment)
- Able to confidently manage project financials, scheduling, and subcontractor oversight
- Strong communication: concise, articulate, organized, and proactive
- Comfortable being on job sites 90–95% of the week
- Proficient in Excel (foundational: tracking, formulas, schedules)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Experience with commercial HVAC manufacturers, mechanical contractors, or OEM service providers
- Prior work with equipment from Trane, Johnson Controls, or Carrier
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Experience with retrofit or tenant improvement projects
- Base Salary: $100K–$120K
