Browne Engineering & Construction is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Superintendent to join our team!

In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day construction operations of a single project. You will leverage your expertise to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and meets all quality specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary liaison between architects and trade contractors for all construction activities.
  • Develop and implement the overall project work schedule, identify the critical path, and expedite critical materials and equipment for on-time delivery.
  • Manage the project’s safety with each trade. Ensure all trades comply with project standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
  • Oversee project activities, including adherence to approved contract documents, scheduling, logistics, quality control, field operations, and workforce requirements. Support project team with technical guidance and jobsite planning throughout the project.
  • Foster collaboration across trades to promote efficient project operations. Document and resolve project issues related to procedures, design clarifications, labor, equipment, and schedules.
  • Manage relationships with trade partners and their employees.
  • Oversee the implementation and approval of project mock-ups and associated testing.
  • Assure timely receipt of all required trade permits and insurance throughout the project term. Act as a liaison with inspection agencies.
  • Manage General Requirements within the project budget.
  • Process and verify monthly estimates of work completed, payrolls, billing for Work-In-Place (WIP), material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications.
  • Champion continuous improvement by implementing efficient practices, program enhancements, and waste reduction strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of construction experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • In-depth understanding of commercial construction operations and self-perform work.
  • Thorough knowledge of general and subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, construction methods, materials, and line and grade/survey methods.
  • Strong understanding of construction cost control, scheduling, estimating, purchasing principles.
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and project safety programs.
  • Proficient knowledge of building codes and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to create and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to make decisions, direct teams, and build strong working relationships.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong management and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders across all levels, including clients, design teams, and trade partners.
  • Skilled in issue management and problem-solving.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methods and tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, construction scheduling software, and project management applications.
