Responsibilities

Maintains records of all work completed.

Uses testing equipment to record conditions and makes independent measurements of coating dry film thickness.

Inspects, observes, and documents surface preparation and sealing of concrete surfaces for quality assurance and to ensure contractor compliance with sealer specifications, plans, and proposals.

Notifies the contractor of non-conforming work.

Records the conditions under which the work was completed.

Performs data entry into ODOT’s CMS/SITE MANAGER system or local documentation equivalent as directed by the Project Engineer or LPA person in responsible charge.

Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Certification required:

Successful completion of the certification every 4 years.

Successful completion of the Department’s ODOT Work Type 57 Sealing of Concrete Surfaces Course.

Successful completion of one of the following:

National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Certified Coatings Inspector Level 1

Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) or Association of Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Protective Coatings Inspector Level 1

SSPC/AMPP Bridge Coating Inspector Level 1
