Recreation Program Leader; Y2Wk -17 Years Old

Overview

Implements recreation activities either by providing direct service or by providing supervision of those implementing recreation activities. May assist in the planning and promotion of an activity/program or be responsible for the development, planning and implementation of a recreation program. May use a specific skill needed to implement a specialized recreation program.

• Must demonstrate an ability to lead participants in a specific recreation activity.
• Must be willing to take direction from supervisors and managers.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must follow Department of Recreation rules, regulations and guidelines, especially those relating to safety and customer service.
• Youth 14 to 18 years of age meeting City residency and household income guidelines.
• Must have a valid work permit (for 14-15 year olds) or parental consent (for 16-17 year olds).
• Must complete application and submit supplemental parental forms.
• Must attend a 20‑hour orientation/training session.
