Job Responsibilities- Work with team to complete clear documentation and written reports that facilitate communication with parents, co-workers and regulatory agents including daily reports, lesson plans, newsletters and professional development plans. Use a variety of communication strategies to support constructive relationships by being accessible, approachable and engaged. Integrate family requests and traditions into classroom. Provide non‑judgmental support for parents. Respond quickly to parent concerns.
- Assess each child’s development using progress reports, screening instruments, direct observation, information from families and other stakeholders. Collaborate and communicate assessment information with the classroom team. Link assessment information with success‑oriented growth opportunities in all developmental domains.
- Maintain knowledge of and compliance with NAEYC code of ethics, city and state regulations, and accreditation requirements governing early education and care programs. Accurately complete required Child and Adult Care Food Program (or CACFP) documentation, follow rules for food service, and attend CACFP training as necessary.
- Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data, and providing input to department discussions. Work with the classroom lead to maintain budget targets by recommending purchases, staffing structures, and process efficiencies.
- Collaborate with team to plan, implement, and communicate age‑appropriate activities which facilitate the social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of assigned children. Provide responsive, developmentally appropriate care for guiding children’s behavior and engagement, such as inquiry, redirection, verbalizing feelings, encouraging problem solving, and setting consistent limits to help children develop inner control. Maintain and demonstrate high‑level knowledge of child development and evidence‑based practice.
- Provide care and supervision of children in a child care or classroom setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of work experience in a related job discipline.
- Preferred:
Certification in first aid, recognition of child abuse, and recognition of common childhood diseases.

Annualized pay may vary based on FTE status $16.50 - $19.80
