Job DescriptionAutomotive General Service Technician – Tire & Lube Tech (Full‑time/Part‑time, hourly). The technician performs routine vehicle repair and maintenance services, delivers exceptional 5‑Star guest service, and follows Monro standards and manufacturer specifications.
Responsibilities- Accurately perform basic vehicle services and repairs efficiently in accordance with Monro standards.
- Tire services – wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation, and TPMS.
- Vehicle services – lubrications, oil changes, basic maintenance (bulb, wiper blade, filter replacements), battery testing and installations.
- Consistently complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection process for every guest vehicle.
- Assist in inventory management: pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
- Assist with all general store duties and maintain the store to Monro cleaning standards.
- Perform services in accordance with Monro safety standards (wheel torque, oil safety, compliance). Test drive vehicles following the Road Test policy.
- Understand and adhere to company policies, government standards including environmental codes and ANSI/OSHA standards.
- Maintain technical knowledge through timely completion of Monro University training courses.
- Operate, utilize, and maintain all equipment safely in accordance with Monro and equipment manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Automotive training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Owner of a basic set of tools or participation in Monro tool purchase program.
- Initiative in identifying problems, collecting data, and establishing facts to recommend solutions.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical issues and write routine reports.
Physical Requirements
- Work flexible hours: days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must lift, carry, and stock merchandise and supplies up to 50 lbs without assistance.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching overhead and below knees (squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting).
