Position: Automotive General Service Technician - (Tire & Lube Tech)

Job Description

Automotive General Service Technician – Tire & Lube Tech (Full‑time/Part‑time, hourly). The technician performs routine vehicle repair and maintenance services, delivers exceptional 5‑Star guest service, and follows Monro standards and manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately perform basic vehicle services and repairs efficiently in accordance with Monro standards.
  • Tire services – wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation, and TPMS.
  • Vehicle services – lubrications, oil changes, basic maintenance (bulb, wiper blade, filter replacements), battery testing and installations.
  • Consistently complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection process for every guest vehicle.
  • Assist in inventory management: pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
  • Assist with all general store duties and maintain the store to Monro cleaning standards.
  • Perform services in accordance with Monro safety standards (wheel torque, oil safety, compliance). Test drive vehicles following the Road Test policy.
  • Understand and adhere to company policies, government standards including environmental codes and ANSI/OSHA standards.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through timely completion of Monro University training courses.
  • Operate, utilize, and maintain all equipment safely in accordance with Monro and equipment manufacturer guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Automotive training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Owner of a basic set of tools or participation in Monro tool purchase program.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical issues and write routine reports.
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Work flexible hours: days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must lift, carry, and stock merchandise and supplies up to 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching overhead and below knees (squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting).
