Job Overview
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office (HCSO), founded in 1803, is the 3rd largest sheriff's office in Ohio, employing approximately 900 people and serving nearly one million residents.
We are looking for dedicated individuals for the role of Court Data Entry Operator.
ResponsibilitiesUse the Jail Management System and Court Management System to enter and update information from court-related legal documents. Pull electronic records and reports, communicate with law enforcement, Social Security Administration, and other agencies to clarify or confirm data. Verify that inmate/arrestee intake, identification, and classification has been completed and entered correctly. Proofread technical legal material and make occasional corrections. Answer phone calls from the public, attorneys, courtrooms, and judges.
Perform clerical duties such as sorting and distributing court-related documents, mailing, and logging information. Work in a jail environment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous data entry experience or similar administrative roles preferred but not required.
- Ability to read, write, and type a minimum of 25 words per minute.
- Proficiency with computers, calculators, and MS Office suite.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
- Listen and follow oral and written instructions.
- Communicate effectively.
- Develop and maintain courteous, professional, and effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, attorneys, and the general public.
- Exercise sound judgment.
- Define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Organize documents according to alphabetical, numerical, and subject order.
- Perform basic math (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying).
