Position: Administrative Coordinator 1-3

The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails.

This position is located at Poverty Point Reservoir State Park in Delhi, LA. The purpose of this position is to perform essential duties in administrative support of the operation of the site, including multi-tasking and high level customer service skills.

Job Duties
  • Performs various administrative tasks such as scheduling, screening visitors, and answering telephone calls for the manager.
  • Assumes lead worker responsibilities of certain management functions such as completing and submitting paperwork to the Administrative Office or Human Resources.
  • Works independently and assumes responsibility in support of day-to-day site operations.
  • Assists the site manager with site budgets and makes sure that all purchases remain inside budget, and follow purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies; operates office equipment.
  • Assists with new hire paperwork and training.
  • Operate the fee station at the park entrance. Register overnight and day use visitors; collect fees from customers.
  • Process payment vouchers, delivery receiving reports, requests for purchases and contracts in written form.
  • Instruct personnel at the park fee stations on correct procedures for collecting fees, cash control, recording revenue, and completing all daily, weekly, and monthly revenue reports.
  • Greets visitors. Provides information regarding site accommodations, amenities, policies, procedures, laws, fees, tourist information, etc.
  • Receives, sorts, and distributes mail.
  • Responsible for all purchases orders for procurement of materials and equipment at the site.
  • Assists in maintaining work orders for maintenance.
Position-Specific Details

Location: Poverty Point Reservoir State Park in Delhi, LA

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotion, or Detail to Special Duty

Career Progression: This position may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, or 3. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled based on the qualifications of the selected applicant. Work Schedule: State Parks are open 365 days a year. Position will work a rotating schedule of 40 hours/week, which can include holidays and/or weekends as needed, to ensure coverage at the park.

Travel: Position may require driving around the park during a shift. Travel may be required to other state parks to assist in staffing or events, as needed. A state vehicle is available for employee use while on duty.
