Responsibilities- Receives Word Processing requests from firm personnel and timely completes assignments. Requests include document conversion; editing; styles application using firm programs; document cleanup; document merging; creation of electronic binders; creation or revision of Table of Authorities and Table of Contents; digital dictation and audio transcription; and other document creation/editing functions as requested.
- Proofread and edit documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation and format. Correct errors.
- Save completed documents in document management system.
- Performs general administrative duties, including entering billable time for attorneys and paralegals; created and maintains electronic files; opens, sorts and logs mail; schedules meeting and conferences; draft correspondence; prepares travel arrangements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must possess strong technical administrative skills, including command of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and have the ability to learn new technologies when released (for example, plug-ins in Word).
- Excellent typing skills required.
- Knowledge of document management programs such as iManage a plus.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation required.
- Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships, prioritize, and multitask. Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures preferred.
- Excellence in customer service and time management.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Law firm experience a plus.
- May lift up to 15 pounds on occasion.
- High school diploma or GED required.
