BMC is seeking to add a Staff Accountant to the Portfolio Management Consulting and Integration Team. As part of this team, the Staff Accountant will assist in the set-up of new accounting processes and systems within assigned portfolio companies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:- Work as integrator for accounting functions within new acquisitions, reporting to F&A Integration Director.
- Support setup of accounting processes and systems for portfolio companies, establishing and professionalizing the accounting function, with duties including but not limited to:
- Ensuring accurate financial records and recordkeeping processes are in place at the portfolio company level.
- Audit and/or set up and implementation of all general ledger accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, payroll, fixed assets, and billing support.
- Review and/or revision of month-end and year-end closing processes; including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with creation, review, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Support setup of ERP/Net Suite system
- Provide oversight and training on payroll accounting, including processing salary and hourly pay, commissions, bonuses, and benefits accounting, and associated reporting, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Perform other finance and administrative duties as required.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control practices.
- Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems such as Net Suite a plus.
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel between portfolio company locations as needed.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
Work is performed in a fast-paced office setting, often with frequent interruptions. Duties may require sitting for long periods of time.
