Assistant Controller

trak group is partnering with a growing, financially stable organization in Cincinnati to identify an Assistant Controller. This company operates in a specialized manufacturing sector with long-term government contracts that provide exceptional stability and growth potential.

This is a highly visible leadership role ideal for an experienced accounting professional ready to take the next step in their career, overseeing critical financial operations and managing direct reports.

• Perform and manage month-end closing process including journal entries, income statement and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare financial statements and provide analysis to senior leadership
• Support monthly forecast process and annual budget cycle
• Manage 1-2 direct reports for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including collections and dispute resolution
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to management and corporate departments
• Establish policies and procedures to ensure appropriate controls meet internal and regulatory requirements
• Oversee inventory management including cycle counting and annual count process
• Prepare audit documents for annual audit and bank audits
• Support general ledger management, costing efforts, and special projects

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Manufacturing industry experience (required)
• Cost accounting expertise
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to analyze financial trends and communicate results to management
• Expertise in Excel and strong technical skills
• Knowledge of GAAP and FASB regulatory requirements

• Master's degree, CPA, or CMA certification
• Project accounting or job cost accounting experience
• Government contract cost accounting experience
• ERP system experience (Visual/Job Scope or similar)
• Financial consolidation/reporting software experience (Hyperion/HFM or similar)
• Employment Type: Direct Hire
• Salary: $90,000-$120,000 (slight flexibility for exceptional candidates)
