Accounts Payable Specialist

Position Overview

My client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support a fast-paced, growing organization in the consumer products and distribution space. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely processing of vendor invoices while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.

• Process high-volume vendor invoices with accuracy and efficiency
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments
• Maintain organized and compliant AP records and documentation
• Communicate with vendors regarding invoice status, payment inquiries, and issue resolution
• Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and accounting teams to ensure smooth AP workflows
• Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable
• Support audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries

• 3-4+ years of hands‑on accounts payable experience
• Strong understanding of AP processes, controls, and best practices
• Experience working in a high-volume or multi‑vendor environment preferred
• Proficiency with accounting or ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
