We are looking for a Real Estate Staff Accountant to join our accounting team! This person would be responsible for processing cash receipts, bank reconciliations, perform month end closing, general ledger review and maintenance, prepare investor compliance, and other ad hoc projects and activities as required. This role will be an essential part of our organization, providing support to various people within the accounting department, so a positive attitude is a must.

The ideal Real Estate Staff Accountant will be a highly organized, energetic, and self‑motivated individual. We truly value passionate and down‑to‑earth people who are driven to get things done and find creative solutions to problems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process cash receipts
  • Bank reconciliations
  • General ledger review and maintenance
  • Monthly property expense allocations
  • Record tenant charges
  • Perform month end closing activities
  • Produce accurate and timely financials for all properties
  • Maintain clean supporting documentation for all reconciling items with follow‑up and corrective action to resolve discrepancies
  • Management fee calculation per property management agreements
  • Assist in preparing property compliance
  • Assist in the annual operating budget process and forecasting activities
  • Assist in preparation of work papers for annual audits
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in accounting or finance
  • 1‑2 years accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in Yardi or similar property management account software preferred
