Position: Tri State CPA Firm Looking for a Bookkeeper

Bookkeeper

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Bookkeeper to support our clients by managing day‑to‑day financial activities, assisting with accurate monthly close processes, and helping deliver clear, reliable financial reporting. This role is ideal for a bookkeeping professional who has a solid foundation, enjoys structured work, and is eager to continue developing their skills in a supportive, team‑based environment. This position offers the opportunity to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility over time, while contributing meaningful work for a variety of clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze client financial data with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)
  • Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor payments and invoicing
  • Perform bank reconciliations and assist with maintaining the chart of accounts
  • Ensure proper account classifications and coding
  • Communicate with clients to answer routine financial questions and provide clarity on reports, with guidance as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client financial information at all times
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or equivalent bookkeeping experience
  • Working knowledge of core bookkeeping processes and financial reporting
  • Experience with Quick Books Online, Quick Books Desktop, Quicken, or similar accounting platforms
  • Ability to read and understand financial statements
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High level of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to confidentiality
  • Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow within the role
