Desired Qualifications- Solid understanding of GAAP and experience in general accounting principles and practices.
- Prior experience in a governmental, public housing, or nonprofit setting preferred.
- Familiarity with HUD regulations, fund accounting, or low-income housing programs is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated accountability, attention to detail, and a strong sense of initiative.
- Proven ability to work as a team player and uphold respectful workplace interactions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating professionalism and clarity.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment with timeliness and efficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to adapt to new software and systems quickly.
- Commitment to continuous learning, process improvement, and high‑quality work output.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Two (2) to three (3) years of accounting experience, preferably in a public sector or nonprofit environment.

The candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in state of residence and maintain an insurable driving record under the terms and conditions of the CMHA auto liability policy. The candidate may have no more than 6 accumulated points in 3 consecutive years.
