Security guards working in nursing homes are primarily responsible for monitor the facility and assisting nursing personnel with residents who can become physically aggressive. City view has a large population of mentally challenged residents. A competent Security Officer should be in a position to handle various duties and responsibilities within their work environment. Have the physically ability to react quickly and follow the standards of CPI and the regulations from IDPH as it relates to long term care.
Job Description:
Observing patients’ behavior, listening to their concerns, and recording their condition
Leading patients in therapeutic and recreational activities
Following instructions from doctors and other medical professionals
Excellent communication skills

Handle Stressful situation
Duties & Responsibilities:
Follow policies and procedures, maintaining compliance of required responsibilities.
Maintain integrity and display proper ethics in this role.
Conduct foot patrols of buildings and surrounding grounds.
Conduct surveillance of the property both inside and out.
Guards against trespass, theft, or damage to property or injury to individuals.
Screening visitors, notify designated personnel of emergencies, write reports.
Assist in the safe and swift evacuation of residents.
Adheres to and enforces security guidelines in all areas and notifies nursing supervisor of any concerns.
Responds to emergency situations per procedures.
Participates in investigations as needed and maintains records and prepares incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities daily.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education:
Must like working with the cognitively impaired with Mental health Diagnosis or Dementia.
You will be trained on CPI /Dementia CPI and must pass the class.
Ability to interact with facility staff in a team environment.
