Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join a growing team in Cicero, Illinois. This is a contract position offering a long-term opportunity to work in the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting practices and a collaborative approach to contribute to the company's success.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review corporate tax returns with accuracy and compliance.

- Manage sales tax filings and ensure timely submissions.

- Record and analyze journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

- Oversee and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure consistency.

- Collaborate with internal teams to support accounting processes and resolve discrepancies.

- Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for management.

- Maintain compliance with relevant tax regulations and industry standards.

- Provide support during audits by compiling necessary documentation.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement effective solutions. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related roles.

- Proficiency in corporate tax preparation and sales tax management.

- Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger reconciliation.

- Familiarity with financial reporting and compliance standards.

- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines effectively.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
