Position: Individual Needs Assistant (Little Horsted of England Primary School)

Overview

Little Horsted CE Primary School is seeking to appoint an Individual Needs Assistant (INA) to work in Key Stage 2. The role is part-time, term-time only, Monday to Friday, 12:45 - 3:30pm, starting as soon as possible.

Hours of work: 13.75 hours per week

Working pattern:
Part-time, term-time only working for 39 weeks per year plus 5.85 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years  continuous service. As the position is part-time/term-time, the salary will be pro rata. Fixed term for: 6 months with an option to extend for a further year.

Friday 30 January 2026, 12pm

What you will do

The Governors are seeking an INA who has a good knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and experience of working with children within that age range. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and will be able to demonstrate flexibility, enthusiasm, resilience, and a commitment to ensuring every child succeeds.

  • Prospective candidates should have a level 2 qualification or above, relevant experience and a good working knowledge of child protection, safeguarding procedures and policies essential in an education setting.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection in schools.

Week commencing 9 February 2026.

Disqualification and safeguarding

This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018. The school will ensure it is not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations. The successful candidate will be required to complete a self-declaration form as part of pre-employment checks and demonstrate they have not been disqualified.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified, the offer of employment will be subject to the candidate applying to Ofsted for a waiver and obtaining a waiver from Ofsted.
