GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs electrical work on U.S. Navy shore facilities, waterborne vessels, surface ships and/or submarines. Tasks will be related to inspections, repairs, modernization and/or alterations.
POSITION LOCATION: Chula Vista, CA
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

- Performs troubleshooting and/or testing of various electrical systems, circuits, controls, instruments and equipment, onboard military shore facilities, and Navy ships/vessels, including submarines and/or ship’s components and documents test requirements.
- Possesses ability to install and test Analogue to Digital interfaces, programmable logic Controllers, and other electronic devices.
- Qualified as a fiber optics technician who can install, connect, and test fiber plant equipment.
- Qualified as a fiber quality assurance technician.
- Conducts voltage and other electrical safety checks.
- Repairs electrical equipment such as: motors, switches, radios, appliances, control panels, starters, navigation lights and lighting equipment.
- Performs connections/hook-ups to panels, switches, and boxes.
- Proficient in pulling cables in cableways and bulkhead and deck stuffing tubes and dressing Multi Cable Transits (MCTs) and Multi Cable Penetrations (MCPs).
- Has the experience and capability to be certified for fabricating multiple pin connectors.
- Assists Team Lead in identifying discrepancies in drawings.
- May Supervise a large team of electricians.
- Fill out objective quality evidence (OQE) forms.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Provides work leadership and technical training to lower-level technicians.
- Employees may be required to travel to work to other locations.
Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate with OSIC and government officials.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: Must possess intermediate computer skills to enter data into different data basis.
