Overview
VIC the PICC ("VTP") is a specialized healthcare provider focusing on vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and home healthcare. We provide vascular access device insertion services, post access support services including declotting, line removal, port access and venous access troubleshooting. VTP also provides continuing education, precepting and other educational support to clinical team members and customers.

- As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will work collaboratively with our customers’ clinical teams to resolve venous access issues to facilitate the treatment objectives of the treating physician. You may work inside or outside the hospital setting depending on each individual referral.
- Place PICCs, midlines and peripheral IVs with ultrasound guidance and use ECG confirmation.
- Assist with management of PICCs and other vascular access devices.
- Provide a wide range of vascular access support services including port access, removal of lines, declotting, and related procedures.
- Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines and other CVADs.
This is a Per Diem position with a minimum requirement of four scheduled shifts per month. Consultants visit patients in different customer facilities and must be willing to travel to customer sites and fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by business needs. Part-time scheduling requirements include a minimum of 4 scheduled shifts per month, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation.
Required Qualifications- Registered Nurse with current license
- American Heart BLS Certification
- Experience in vascular access device management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs
- Ability to work independently and fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification
- Valid driver’s license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation for travel to patient sites
- Must possess a smartphone
- Must LOVE vascular access
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in acute care
- Experience with other vascular access device (VAD) placements using ultrasound
Compensation is based on candidate experience and relevant certifications.
Hourly Pay Range: $50 USD - $70 USD
