DEFINITION The Family Asset Building Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the delivery and oversight of MAAC’s financial empowerment and asset-building services. Reporting to the Family Asset Building Program Manager, this position supervises Family Asset Building Specialists, Volunteers and/or Interns. Provides direct support to participants through higher-level case management, financial coaching, and program navigation. The Coordinator ensures consistent service delivery across grants, supports accurate recordkeeping, and helps participants access financial tools such as financial education, electric vehicle rebates, credit-building loans, and income supports.

This role also contributes to seasonal initiatives, volunteer coordination, and outreach efforts, and is designed to flexibly support the evolving needs of grant-funded programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Staff Supervision & Program Oversight
    • Supervise Family Asset Building Specialists, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
    • Monitor case documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with program standards.
    • Support onboarding and training of new staff and volunteers.
    • Facilitate regular team check-ins and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
  • Direct Services & Higher-Level Case Management
    • Provide advanced financial coaching and case management to participants with complex needs.
    • Assist participants in navigating electric vehicle rebate programs, including eligibility screening, document collection, and loan readiness assessments.
    • Refer participants to appropriate financial education and coaching services when needed.
    • Support participants in accessing credit-building loans, affordable financial products, and income supports.
  • Program Coordination & Community Engagement
    • Support planning and coordination of seasonal initiatives and events (e.g., Financial Literacy Month, VITA outreach).
    • Assist with volunteer coordination and engagement in financial empowerment activities.
    • Participate in outreach efforts and represent the program at community events, occasionally during evenings or weekends.
  • Data Management & Reporting
    • Ensure timely and accurate data entry in systems such as Salesforce, Tax Slayer, and Quickbase.
    • Provide participant-level data and program updates to the Program Manager.
    • Assist in preparing internal reports and summaries for grant tracking and evaluation.
Qualifications and Skills

Knowledge of:

  • Financial coaching and asset-building strategies.
  • Case management principles and participant engagement techniques.
  • Electric vehicle rebate programs and financial product navigation.
  • Grant-funded program operations and reporting requirements.
  • Digital tools and case management systems (e.g., Salesforce, Tax Slayer, Quickbase).
  • Culturally responsive service delivery and community-based outreach.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; and CRMs, especially Salesforce
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise and support staff in a collaborative and inclusive manner.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
