Summary

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS SPECIALIST I
Examination No. 26-013
San Diego Superior Court is seeking qualified candidates for the position of I.T. Systems Specialist. The resulting eligible list from this recruitment will replace the existing list and will be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur.

There is one (1) upcoming vacancy approved to be filled at the North County courthouse, 325 South Melrose Drive in Vista.

Job Summary

I.T. Systems Specialists provide a broad range of computer workstation and peripheral (desktop, laptop, printer, etc.) support and maintenance, including but not limited to hardware and software problem identification and resolution, user account and system administration, end user support, and audio/video conferencing and telecommunication support and maintenance; serve as a technical liaison between the end user, I.T. department and third party hardware and software vendors;

and perform related duties as required.

Knowledge Of

The IDEAL CANDIDATE should have the following:

  • Computer workstation hardware, software and peripherals; support of audio/video systems; current network protocols, operating systems, data file management/storage, and email standards; application programming concepts; LAN/WAN/MAN network concepts and fundamentals.
Ability To

Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain end user workstations and related hardware and software using tools and diagnostic utilities; define user needs and recommend alternatives; operate tools, audio/video components and peripheral devices; comprehend technical manuals, procedural documentation and OEM guides; establish and maintain working relationships with end users, court staff and vendors; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of a MCSE certification or graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field;

AND

At least one (1) year of full-time work experience in providing hardware/software support and maintenance of computer workstations, peripherals and audio/video systems for a diverse end user community.

Allowable Substitution

Two (2) years of additional full-time work experience as described above may substitute for the certification or degree requirement.
