ProgramSBCS Corporation operates a 24/7 year‑round confidential, emergency shelter program for victims of domestic violence and their children. Services include 24‑hour emergency shelter, food, transportation, 24‑hour crisis hotline, psychological support and peer counseling, referrals to community resources, and community education and outreach.
ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Childcare Provider shall be responsible for providing services and support for women who have experienced domestic violence and their children. Services will be consistent with the agency’s goals, objectives, mission and style.
Duties- Provide nurturing, compassionate, developmentally appropriate, and supportive care to children.
- Care for and actively supervise children during childcare hours.
- Be aware of children(s) special circumstances (e.g., health concerns, peak stress time, emotional difficulties…etc.)
- Maintain contact with the children’s parents and contact them in the case of an emergency.
- Plan and facilitate educational age‑appropriate activities for children (infants, toddlers, pre‑school age and school age children)
- Communicate with parents about the behavior of their children.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the childcare room.
- As a mandated reporter, should be able to report any suspicion of child abuse or neglect to the relevant authorities as required by law.
- Ensure that sign‑in sheets are correctly maintained and submitted to the Program Coordinator in a timely fashion.
