The Birthplace at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center is committed to providing care to newborns, mothers and families through a multidisciplinary team approach. The Birthplace features private birthing suites designed so labor, delivery and recovery take place in the same room, along with modern amenities to ensure comfort and safety. To enhance newborn security, the center also uses Certa Scan technology, which provides digital footprint imaging, secure photo storage and maternal fingerprint identification.
