The iconic Chateau on the Park Christchurch – a Double Tree by Hilton is looking for a Sales Executive who appreciates the impact of both local and global travel and understands the reason we are here, to delight our guests and clients.

Ideally the candidate will be a sales hunter who loves the thrill of securing new business, a proven record of sales, a passion for wowing our guests while looking after our regular clients who have come to enjoy the special place the Chateau has in the heart of Christchurch.

We are looking for a team member who is keen to continue growing their career and aligns themselves with our Hilton values – Hospitality, Integrity, Leadership, Teamwork, Ownership and Now and who demonstrates the following behaviours:

  • Flexibility with hours as some hosting will be required
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Able to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods
  • Full New Zealand Driver's License
  • Flexibility to host outside of normal business hours (including weekends)

What will I be doing:

  • New account acquisition
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with clients and develop an understanding of their needs and requirements and provide solutions to match in order to convert the business
  • Actively promote the hotel facilities by entertaining clients and agents as necessary
  • Conduct tours of inspections of the hotel with potential clients
  • Conduct regular Sales updates to clients
  • Attend Trade shows around New Zealand if required – ability to travel essential
  • Ensure all reports are produced as requested by Management
  • Research potential opportunities
  • Have an understanding and knowledge of our competitors strengths and weaknesses
  • Develop and maintain a broad range of product knowledge about the Hotel
  • Update and maintain accurate account profiles in the database systems e.g. Delphi
  • Actively work as a member of the team, contributing to maximising revenue and generate business
  • Create collateral to assist with converting business
  • Assist with amending marketing assets when required

It would be an advantage for the successful candidate to have:

  • Two years in a similar role, preferably within a hotel chain environment
