Position: Junior Sous Chef (Permanent)
Junior Sous Chef, Newport: up to £30,000 - £32,000 & Benefits

An outstanding opportunity is available for an experienced Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a prestigious Hotel in Newport This role is perfect for a talented chef ready to step up into a senior position, supporting the Head Chef in a high-quality dining environment.

Compensation & Rewards

Salary + Tronce will amount to £30,000 - £32,000

37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7.

Key Responsibilities

As Junior Sous Chef, you will play a crucial part in the kitchen's day-to-day operations, ensuring quality and efficiency.

Order all food items and ensure that purchases are received, checked against the invoice, and correctly stored.
Make sure that all stock is labelled and rotated effectively.
Ensure resources are used effectively, minimising waste to protect the environment and reduce costs.
Act on behalf of the senior chef when appointed, supporting kitchen management.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate strong experience in high-end environments and possess the following:

Minimum 3 years' experience at a 4 star Hotel and/or large reputable restaurant with at least 1 AA Rosette.
Proven experience leading a team of 8+ kitchen staff.
A full understanding of HACCP, menu costing, and menu planning.
