Position: Part Time and Full Time Teacher Training

We are fortunate in that our partnership is able to offer contrasting placements including comprehensive, grammar and special schools, and a link with the University of Reading for the award of PCCE.

Role Description

We have been providing high quality teacher training for people living in the BCP, Dorset and Hampshire areas for over 20 years. Our Secondary QTS with PGCE route provides trainee teachers with the face-to-face training they need to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) which allows them to teach in English schools. The programme involves taught pedagogy sessions which are delivered from one of our two training hubs located in Poole and Christchurch.

We find you two contrasting placement schools where you are able to put theory into practice. The University of Reading provides sessions to support you undertake some action research into teaching practices and complete their assignments in order to achieve a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Reflective Practice).

The minimum entry requirements are as follows:
  • An honours degree at 2:2 or above (2:1 in PE), the subject content of which must meet the requirements of the chosen subject specialism.
  • At least GCSE grade C or grade 4 in English and maths, or acceptable recognised equivalent.
  • In addition, we look for some practical experience with young people in the 11-18 age range.
