Job Summary
Oldcastle Infrastructure is looking for a Project Manager/Estimating Intern. Interns will apply classroom‑learned skills to track data, analyze processes, and recommend solutions based on gathered data from our facilities. You will engage with leaders and associates, gain hands‑on experience through shadowing, and own a meaningful project.
This position starts in person around May 2026 and continues through the entire summer term (May–August 2026). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full‑time and on‑site, for most internships.
Job Location- Onsite position located in Chowchilla, CA.
- Estimating
- Assist Estimating Manager by estimating multiple projects concurrently and getting proposals to the sales staff before the bid date.
- Contact vendors for pricing on needed items, review vendor quotes to ensure compliance with required designs/specifications.
- Work with Estimating Manager and sales staff on proposals to ensure proper estimating, project requirements, time frames, and subcontracting opportunities.
- Assist the Estimating team with the Hand‑Off meeting at the point of sale to ensure all needed information and paperwork are complete, the scope of work is clear, review the estimate and confirm values for all items, and begin the scheduling process.
- Project Manager
- Work with CSR and Project Leads in building accurate submittal packages for customers.
- Assist CSR and Project Leads with customers who have product questions, ordering, and order tracking.
- Prepare quotes for standard product and enter orders into the system for delivery.
- Issue credits or debits accurately when applicable.
- Review engineering submittals with the Project Lead and create takeoffs for customers.
- Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned by the Commercial Operations Manager.
- Monitor the progress and status of each assigned project as it moves through the process, proactively problem‑solve, provide technical advice, and assist other staff to expedite projects and remove obstacles that may cause delays.
- Sophomore through Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Concrete Industry Management (Preferred), Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or another related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
- Ability to write reports and analyze raw data.
- Ability to understand engineered drawings and blueprints.
- Hourly pay: $25.00/hr.
