Unit Catering Supervisor – Abbey Village Primary School, Abbey Village, Chorley

Salary £25,189-£25,989 per annum | Part Time, 20 hours per week (Fixed term until 27/03/2026) | Education sector.

Unit Catering Supervisor (Grade
4)

Lancashire County Council provides catering services to over 500 schools across Lancashire, serving over 60,000 school meals per day and we are looking for committed individuals to join the service.

You will lead and work as part of a team at Abbey Village Primary School, Abbey village, Blackburn, providing high quality, healthy, balanced meals for school children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cook and serve food and beverages in accordance with agreed menus and production plans.
  • Direct and/or supervise other employees.
  • Order supplies and manage deliveries.
  • Maintain records and stock control.
  • Maintain agreed standards and associated documentation in relation to food and kitchen hygiene.
What We Are Looking For
  • Experience of large-scale catering.
  • Knowledge of food service and catering in general.
  • Organisational, cost control and supervisory skills.
  • Recognised supervisor or team leader qualification (desirable).
Working Hours / Days

This is a fixed-term position (until 27/03/2026 Minimum) covering staff absence.

Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day;
Term time only + 4 cleaning days during school closure.

20 hours per week, although hours are variable depending on school meal uptake.
